Before God we are born – destined to crawl, standing tall with arms out stretched, from walk to run – gently falling back to sacred ground, from where we look up to skies of blue – and stars ignited by settling sun. And in between glances of tall trees, valley’s green and sparkling coastlines where happiness adorns our eyes to a world of never-ending dawns and dusks. From frosty mornings to sun baked shores our winds of time build layers in waves of charged memories. Then when life’s blows arrive we see devastation searing hearts and minds all around. And in our darkest hour when sand gives way to streams of oily decay, the mighty sword swings to move all away – for we are ourselves armed by God’s love whose will never forsake us when testing times betray. Imagine only sweet scents and soft sand under foot, with wind in hair and laughter loud, that one day will once again return to our lives. These times of great grief and somber days will eventually give way to sparkling waters and glistening reefs where all the pain will finally dissolve away. For we are all children of God – young, aged by life, awake or in gentle slumber. In our journey of thoughts we live to know that we are not alone, rising slowly under one shining moon only to leave this blessed earth under the same – and at this world’s end in just one single part of an endless existence, the blows of life’s hammer are what makes us – perfect in the end. Fear and high fences drives us from the children’s nursery towards a world of others through suffering and pain. And then, we eventually lie in sleep once again to know that pain we have endured – leads to the happiness to come. Be bold in this adventure and incredulous forces will fall at your feet – take them with all your might and the inevitable breakdown to eventually – our breakthrough – breakthrough to the acknowledgment of a beautiful planet that exists simply for us – never-ending and quite divine. Be strong for ocean’s life and land’s decay when man’s stricken hand brings oil to bay. One day all will be gone and just a distant memory – all of us children in spirit – joining as one who will again feel the love of home, hand in hand and never alone. dwg. July 2010.

A Letter to dear friends,

These are the times of our lives that will define who we truly are and truly have become, in high crashing waves of inner consultation. The world appears to be heading in the wrong direction and yet it truly is not anymore. The greater we become in ourselves the further our light will shine upon all those standing on this earth – far and wide. Communication now becomes narrative. A narrative talking of journey, peace and acknowledgment that rides high above any human feeling of victim, fear, addiction, insecurity, dependence and doubt that once consumed us. This is for some a new realm, a new layer and a new world; a world that washes away all those traits that dogged our soul and interferes with mind, matter and body. They are gone forever. No human, no discourse and no material icon can interfere with this transition. They are the past ailments poured upon by useless powers and eradicated by inner senses of calm and belief in God and God alone. The communication turns from all prior languages and moves to story fired by narrative of one’s own journey into the light. From the moment we are born we live not to die but to prepare for the next world adventure. Life’s twists and turns are hence directed by choice points throughout the narrative stages where we are given the responsibility to award to people in whatever their stage denotes – good or poor. Now walking free to see but not be seen – to shine great energy upon every soul that walks this ground without effort. Love becomes all and love becomes nothing, because love is pierced into our walk by default. When you reach out through and beyond this world’s pain, it is the choice to walk tall on your own and then see souls ignite within and eventually out of your space. This transition has arrived when you know that the world no one person sees – becomes the world you see. It sparkles and glistens pulling you in and magnifying energy out to the north, south, east and west. Waves of light pure as gold become natural and now this life takes upon a clear road – straight without curves or diversions. The next world is upon the soul and has caught our mind earlier by divine intervention, whilst the world most evident has already dissolved. Now and only now through spirit and wide-eyed consciousness, has this elect upon the chosen arrived with energy, belief and dedication; a bold character appears beyond any imagination of this world’s penned being. For the soul on fire to illustrate with ease and considered not by lonely road, but instead a unique opportunity to grab hold with all your might for prematurely God has granted you gifts in early dawn in this world, that have now taken you to the next. My narrative is my story. My narrative is my love of words, comfort and encouragement. My channel is the loudspeaker to the world that has been given to benefit those that hear love and friendship.

My narrative is inner belief transforming then to outer belief; where the love of those lives everywhere, have guided me to aspire to loving people who come across a soul that learns, holds and aspires people to live a story of themselves in the now; through simple microphone next to a friend who will embrace this new realm and the love of peace and accord with them.

When you reach this place life becomes continuous with no beginnings and no end. To reach this world it is the narrative that I speak of that transcends what we understand to be communication. It is the narrative that I have found in a truly inspired work that will serve people and not diminish them. In that I have found in two people especially the love of life, that has elevated my soul into the next world – one that has waited patiently for so long and only now – is real.

Thank you for providing that faith. I send it back to you both in waves of humility, love and victory.

Program June 7 2010 – “The Life & Career of Captain Dan Hanley – “In the work in which I have been involved for so many years in the humanities it is with respect, dedication and due diligence to those that I elect to support. By analyzing our own human insecurities, the failures of one’s own human weakness of fears and judgement diminish as wisdom and understanding of truth emerge. This position provides the fortitude and sense of well-being to acknowledge those that enter your space, whose life force stands up successfully to the tests of betrayal, truth and moral fortitude. Furthermore, to appreciate one’s own mistakes in taking life’s meandering journey also talks to the definition of a modern-day leader. An individual whose decisions wrong or right can ultimately serve others that follow, to the greatest of degrees. I recently spent time face to face with Dan Hanley, to whom I came away more impressed that any words could ever articulate. I only wish that the opportunity could have been appointed with more focus in donating greater time to fully appreciate the true heart and courage, that this human being displays in abundance. I can without reservation state that my own life was further blessed with the rare opportunity provided on this occasion; that is to be in the company of a man who despite the challenges of a journey so testing, has come through with immeasurable distinction. Integrity, courage and forgiveness define a real human being when faced with such over-whelming odds. To stare into the eyes of a human being whose every waking moment for so long has been tested with enormous pain and yet resulted in such a sense of forgiveness and strength, is rare indeed. This life that I came across for only a brief time, will receive my endless support towards the goal of helping others; everyday people who face or have faced similar consequences of simply standing firm for the merits of truth, where a dedication to country and the safety of others is unquestionable and undeniable” David William Gibbons Writer & Broadcaster June 4, 2010.

03/31/10 – New eLetter’s from America follows in the footsteps of Alistair Cooke’s journey across the United States, between the post-war years to his passing in 2004. His original “Letter’s from America” began in 1946 and were enormously successful for the BBC. The series finally came to an end 58 years (2,869 installments) later, in March 2004. Cooke was 95 years old and reluctantly retired on advice from doctors. He died shortly after having left a legacy of American history during a period of change and volatility. As a boy and into adulthood Gibbons was enchanted by the regular sunday morning radio program broadcast on BBC’s radio Four. His father rarely missed the program’s that he had followed himself from their inception in 1946. The New eLetter’s from America broadcast monthly, continuing from where Cooke left off with attentive and passionate commentary on the economic, social and political status of the country today. The established and polished style of Cooke’s delivery taken on under different guise by Gibbons to illuminate the extraordinary changes in American society. The program’s reporting from studio and across America’s heart land in concert with the years; a program capturing the fundamental mindset and emotive state of people across the country through carefully planned recordings and film. New Letter’s of America will cover the sublime and trauma of a country coming to terms with frugality and severe change in a shifting economy and fading decadence that will never again, be seen.

I have had the amazing intervention in recent weeks and months to discover my skills provided by our Creator, in reaching out to people far and wide. In these long days I have realized profoundly, that at last I have found a gift through which I could affect those around me in some simple way. I hope and pray to God that my work is positive, meaningful and productive.  It is not in me that this gift travels into other’s lives. It is from God who channels his love through a human being and I take no credit. I am just another man who has been given the chance by our wonderful God to live this wonderful life, of which every one of us should cherish.

In finding more people in the last four months than in my entire life, I can only wonder at how I became so fortunate. All different, all purposeful in their short journey on this ground that Jesus Christ once traveled.

We as people are not the same. My assumption during 14 Days was wrong. We are all different and yet share one common ground. Our creator brought us here to be diverse, alive and blessed for all that we receive.

In listening deeply to the discussion of many varied people I am realizing clearly now that the world will never be without conflict. Humans are by nature self-absorbed and selfish survivors, to the extent that as in history we always see winners and losers. But do we really understand that the winners in our eyes are actually the losers? They are so, because their fortune arrives at the price of others in any walk of life. This will always be the case in a need for money, domination or love. None have an equitable or positive status and history provides that stark reminder. Money is the enemy in any society today and rules power, domination and love with shocking results. As long as lives are steered by the greed of money, all those attributes that we should be yearning for will fail to arrive at our doorsteps.

As Milton so well described the times in the early 17th century as being the rise of money as a prime transfer of skills and goods, we today have translated that into hopelessness and chaos. In the future when frugality will become common place in all areas of life, perhaps only then will the power and destruction of money fade as our common human denominator.

In traveling throughout the world I have witnessed the worst in people, communities and societies where money has become God. In other places where people live with little or nothing, lives do not have the terrible ironies of greed. Where possessions are few and life exists for the day, it is profoundly evident that humans seek nothing more than to wake up every morning seeing the same sky under which they lay their heads to sleep at the end of day.

The world we exist in today will not continue. It is about to grow up to the reality that industrialization, mechanization and technology are insufficient solely for growth. As with anything in this world there is a beginning and an end. These also will travel through to an end where remarkable opportunities for human change can and will certainly without a doubt occur. With change comes endless possibility. During this time we can expect exciting and radical opportunities to fall into our lives.

“It is a sad paradox that the poorest societies in our world will adapt at a faster rate than those used to modern comfort and luxury. To them the developed world will for the first time rely upon a security that they possess, in coming to turns with the ideals and pure necessities of frugality and simplicity. They will be the winners and not the losers this time. Their life energy and self-reliance will be the saving grace to millions who will learn that in the end, they held the final gift of God. The gift of grace, simplicity and happiness in acknowledging a sky above that rises every morning just for them.”

Bless our dear children’s future. It is to change with the wind and they will be those that find a way to learning from humans that have little, that they will aspire to having themselves. Therein the failures of environmental destruction will end. REAL sustainability will be born and the fish in the sea and birds in the sky will once again know a world that has discarded their enemy. I hope that in anybody that I share my heart with that in me they feel that they have found a friend. It is for nothing else that I wish for at these sunset moments of life.

Thoughts. Completing a document. Finished by the morning. It will either stir people who need to be stirred or it will scare them of their responsibilities to act with transparency and accountability. “Life is risk – risk is how I live. Nobody will ever be able to cheat me of that right” Life is also friendship and belief of dreams that those close to you seek. So many friends that believe. Today I found another – although I already knew that - who drives me to the edge. Somebody who tells me how it is and that underneath he believes. God, what a profound way to live. I realized today that values shared are rare – that the outcome pushes you to the very limits of your mental and physical capacity. All my friends during 14 Days were pushed beyond their limits. It was a way to incite such torture – torture that defined them to become real believers in their own gifts. After a period of plotting my end they all came back and never left - every single one. Now I am the one being pushed and that defines who I am. Thank you to Randall Libero who looks for nothing short of greatness in the human endeavor. I need that in these times when nothing short of perfection is demanded, to succeed in every way possible. Watch us succeed – I dare you. dwg

I received news on Friday February 12 of the passing of a friend. Michael Gaylord. Michael brought together Richard Knapp and myself to create what is now known as 14 Days. Michael was a gentle man with an abundance of humility and kindness who at the time of his death was 47 years old. His willingness to support any meaningful attempt to bring humanity together was profound. Michael became a friend who was adored by my daughter Chloe. He was to spend several years by my side and became pivotal in the development of a project that to this day means so much to many. Michael lived with his Mother in Diamond Bar California devoted to her care as dementia took its grip. He died with his Mother in horrific circumstances at home, having given in to the torment of financial difficulties. Michael was a well balanced individual who cared about those around him armed with a grounded disposition. His passing and last days is indicative of a world in which we live where despair is widespread. How have we reached this point where so much fear and torment has affected so many in our society. As a caring nation we are failing in protecting those that have contributed so much. Our focus has shifted in an ugly way to a society that ignores its own and has become misguided in directing focus to other areas in the world. While this has merit and should be applauded, those humanitarian measures have become excessive, and frankly devalue those in this country that are in a poor position. An urgent correction needs to be applied to our system to support the terrible and increasing poverty in this nation. This has to be a strong mandate and MUST occur very urgently. Without this change of thinking people are going to lose faith and rebel against traditional systems in this country. That time I fear is approaching. Leaders from all areas of life including industry need to take a long hard look at themselves and the economic turmoil we find ourselves in. This is not an excessive or emotive comment but to my mind defines a society that is broken in so many ways. Fresh thinking, communication and as my colleague points out collaboration is key; out of that solutions will surface which are needed now. Action is required to avoid a predictable meltdown in all areas of life. I urge all people to start communicating and join in changing our systems before they implode. Michael is a vivid and dear memory. His passing and predicament is becoming common and serves all to strive immediately for a re-birth of our society at large. My memories may supply joy but the passing of this man tells a greater story. It is a story that absolutely disgusts me; at the same time making me feel inexplicably sad, convinced and committed to supporting change that will start in the financial centers - which are chaotic and completely self-serving. Michael, you will always be in my heart and I hold the banner high in celebrating those opportunities that you brought me. I steer the ship of change with and for you always.

I have been immersed in research and programming structure all day. We have a critical and heavy production period ahead in the coming weeks. It has occurred to me however that at the core, we are losing our identity to the extent that greater issues over environment and that very ability to survive in the future are being overlooked. The way in which industry, politics and people’s alertness to fundamental issues are now being eroded, is at an alarming and rapid pace. None of the aforementioned are seeking through evidenced social history or current trends an innovative approach to two distinct and vital elements in society. Communication and Community. Each drive the other in feeding the basic merits of survival and understanding. In Bruce Piasecki’s recent dialogue I picked up on the idea he initiated of “sistering.” The goal of sistering leaders of industry in order to learn from each other of that drive to success or failure that they deliver, is of course essential. During our conversation I took this concept one stage further by expanding the triangular effect of including people and therefore consumers in this methodology. Certainly, industry leaders, scientists, designers and an entire host of other specialists in their craft can learn from each other. However, I have to say and with assertion that nothing happens without the input of people. People consume the products (tangible or intangible) or take benefit from the innovative ideas that all the aforementioned create. The third part of this triangle compliments and negates insulation by ratifying or denying the purpose of those who steer society. In either case negatively or positively, leaders in their fields of expertise need greater support than currently offered to help them, in order to steer in the right direction. Therefore, to avoid scepticism (an all too common human flaw) a three-way multi-media stage will hasten solutions towards a sustainable future in all walks of life. Social history informs us clearly that innovation on its own is flawed unless developed by feedback. Feedback not through conventional market analysis. The triangular multi-media theory is where we have met in the middle to reinforce the essential need for communication. My colleague Randall and I throw out permative terminologies and finish always with the same conclusions; that is communication and multi-media access available through multiple sources that receive constant and formidable response from people around the world. This ensures that a single objective goal for environmental stability towards human survival can be achieved by sistering leaders, innovators and people. The third community being absolutely vital to create community and collective solutions. Every human being can learn through this idea to find exactly what it is that they are best at, in contributing to a healthy society. If each of the groups above become immersed in a universal platform that serves one purpose – for all to take on the responsibility of creators and not simply just spectators - imagine the possibilities. Welcome to the long-term mission of Visionary Entertainment.

I am with my colleague Randall Libero becoming very involved with critical and urgent issues that profoundly affect our future at all levels. I am also impressed upon by the work of Bruce Piasecki who will appear on “In Discussion” this coming Monday February 8, 2010. At this stage in life and given that aforementioned ”urgency” that I apply to our present world’s condition, our work intends to concentrate efforts to engage that silent majority in our world who do not have an ability to contribute to change. It is a vital need that a multi-media delivery can be designed (which currently does not exist) to engage people from all parts of society and geographic location. It is that feedback from human beings in our world who feel helpless at the present, that will engage thoughts, rebirth and self-assessment in our heads of industry – all of which is essential. I strongly believe that the responsibility of industry leaders has never been so important as it is today. On both sides there is an insular position that needs to be expanded to meet one single objective; transparency, hope and change. Change in our world now can be defined in one single word – innovation. To some this may have an antiquated tone but the innovation I talk about is not just about vision. It is vision – action – solutions. Solutions that create equality across all levels of society worldwide. This is not an anti-capitalistic statement. It is common sense. Capitalism works but it MUST be developed so that everybody benefits. This requires that a humanistic approach must be applied by ALL of us. In industry, education and all walks of life. Scientists, artists, industry leaders and all people now have an unbelievable responsibility to engage in a forum that affects REAL change. If we do not our children will suffer terribly. Therefore, we have to meet in the middle to protect the environment and create at the same time a workable world that overcomes obstacles that we are so unaware of or not prepared to consider. Problems that will bring down our ability to live on this earth unless we work together NOW. Here we have one defined mission – a multi-media delivery that allows everybody to become involved in shaping our world.

Spent this morning reacquainting myself with the life of Franklin and Keats. Both extraordinary men. The former being the recipient of much anguish in terms of criticism – and in waves. Men who changed the way we think and live. Works created with heart that despite being driven through events so long ago, as in the case of Franklin, have as much purpose and relevance today as they did in the late 1700′s. In one word to define that human endeavor - humility. A characteristic so deplored by the critics of men who in the main have little else to say, when faced with such depth of purpose in another human being. Keats, a man of romantic words but practical. As with the amazing writings of men such as Bacon and Thomas, we forget that it takes the words of romantics and pragmatists together, to create a whole solution. Why do so many like to separate the two into groups as if they are in opposition. Both human beings … walking the same earth … same intent … breathing the same air. Unite them .. do not divide them. It takes men and women from all backgrounds to bring together innovative ideas in order to make this incredible world go round. At a time of re-birth …. I dare anybody …. Leaders of Business, Leaders of Men, Leaders of their own Cause, Leaders of Communities …. UNITE. For God’s sake unite. Next: Rupert Brookes. Thank you to BP for reminding me of the good works of those above. dg 01/30/10
